 Job openings are posted on the OMWD Human Resources web page. For a list of current openings, click here. You may also call Human Resources at 760-632-4210. Job openings are typically advertised in the Union-Tribune newspaper and posted on water industry career websites such as bcwaterjobs.com.
No. However, all job openings are posted on the Human Resources webpage or you may call Human Resources at 760-632-4210 for information about current openings.
Job openings are advertised as positions become available. There is no set time frame for job openings.
 You can download an application in PDF "fillable" format from the website, or come to the OMWD office located at 1966 Olivenhain Road, Encinitas, CA 92024. Applications may be completed and submitted online when there is a current vacancy. Click here to apply.

Yes. Each position requires a separate application. If you applied for the same position within the last 6 months, please contact Human Resources to have your last application included in the current recruitment.
Copies of job-related certifications may to be attached with the original application. You may also attach a resume or other supplemental materials. Please do not submit documents verifying your legal right to work in the United States, DMV printouts or copies of any identification documents.
No. A completed OMWD employment application is required for each job opening. A resume may be attached to the application.

Applications are kept on file for six months after the close of the recruitment.
All applicants will be notified by mail or by phone regarding the status of their applications and whether they will be invited to interview for the open position. In most cases, you will be contacted within 2-3 weeks following the application deadline for the recruitment. Yes. OMWD has a Drug Free Workplace policy and applicants will be expected to successfully complete a drug test prior to employment. OMWD also conducts physical exams to ensure that any necessary accommodations for applicants and employees with disabilities can be made in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
No. OMWD does not currently accept interest cards for future recruitments.
Yes. As part of the hiring process OMWD conducts thorough background investigations including criminal history, DMV checks, verifications of education, and prior employment.
