At Olivenhain Municipal Water District (OMWD), we’re committed to educating the public about water issues and the importance of conserving this precious resource. Not only do we offer free educational programs for school children, we also have programs designed for adults.
Local School Programs
Children in school today are the leaders of tomorrow. We realize the important role these children will play in future decisions on growth, policies and water resources. For more information about our education, conservation and public information programs, call 760-632-4641 or email us. Splash Science Mobile Lab — The field trip that comes to you OMWD sponsors four annual visits by the Splash Science Mobile Laboratory and the Green Machine in its service area. These award-winning programs are popular with both students and teachers. They allow children to experience firsthand many of our local water issues such as groundwater pollution, pond ecology, water quality, weather and climate, soil types and percolation, and microbiology. It is a mobile field trip brought right to your school.
Regional School Programs
The San Diego County Water Authority also offers free regional education programs including workshops, curriculum, assemblies, classroom presentations, mini-grants, and other special programs and materials for grades K-12.
OMWD Outreach
OMWD employees provide outreach services throughout the year, including:
